Founded in 2015, Deep Concept was born out of a growing need for expertise in power semiconductor packaging. DEEP Concept offers studies, expertise and prototyping in the power electronics R&D market, including packaging of power components (materials, interconnections, technologies), realization of innovative designs and their optimizations by finite element modelling, manufacturing of micro-series of power modules based on conventional or innovative solutions and testing and analysis of the packaging and its assembly.

” As an expert in packaging for integrated power electronics, DEEP Concept will be in charge of an optimization of the design of the switching cell, in close collaboration with the CSIC teams;  from the model to the manufacturing of functional prototypes, with activities in the generation of the Digital Twins and Reliability analysis.”

The Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC) is a well positioned research center both for the development of new micro and nano technologies, components and systems (considered Key Enabling Technologies by the European Commission) and also for the application of such technologies to improve knowledge and to help face societal challenges. IMB-CNM's main activities include basic and applied research and development, education and training in micro and nanotechnologies, components and systems.

“The Power Devices and Systems Group of the IMB-CNM are directly involved in SCAPE with their expertise in Power Systems Integration and Reliability research line, including: thermal management, packaging technologies, electro-thermal characterization and reliability analysis.”

SCAPE project coordinator - IREC is the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research. IREC’s mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of our society implementing industrial competitiveness, generating scientific knowledge, and building technology around energy related issues. IREC works on Applied Research, generating knowledge with a mid-term and long-term goal in mind. IREC also performs Technology Research focused on collaboration with Industry to create new technical solutions to bring innovation to science and technology.

“IREC’s duty in SCAPE is to steer the project to the right direction to reach the planned objectives and outcomes. We fully believe that SCAPE will spur a change of paradigm in the conception of power converters for EVs and beyond!”
